I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is really going ahead.
